Jan Boeve (1960) heeft zijn opleiding gevolgd aan de Akademie voor Kunst en Industrie te Enschede met als specialisatie fotografie. Hij woont in Amsterdam en werkt vanaf 1989 als freelance fotograaf. Opdrachten (portretten en reportage's) komen van het bedrijfsleven, communicatie en adviesbureau's en de reclamewereld. Verder werkt hij als documentair/nieuws fotograaf aan onderwerpen die hij zelf interessant vindt en die hij later via fotobureau Hollandse Hoogte aanbied.
